Why should we spend time contemplating whether our reality is a simulation?
The short answer is that it gives us purpose if we so choose.
Purpose is absolutely vital for us conscious beings. No, I’m not exaggerating; it truly is.
Many of us struggle with finding our purpose. Why am I here? What should I do? How can I become happy?
If you're losing that struggle and can't really decide why to do anything, life can become quite miserable. Why get out of bed? Why brush your teeth? Why eat healthily?
Even if we're in a better place, many questions may still swirl in our heads. Why go to work? Why spend quality time with family? Why study and improve? Why make an extra effort?
Of course, many have already found their purpose and at least find meaningful content in their lives, often even outright success.
On the other hand, many might continue to seek a deeper purpose, perhaps one unknown to visible and observable reality.
If we choose to think that we live in a simulation, which we have chosen to enter for a reason fully aware that we start our lives from scratch without remembering our past lives or understanding the nature of our reality, then what is that reason?
We cannot know what it is because that knowledge might make it impossible to achieve. But by believing in the simulation, we know it's our own reason or goal that has brought us here. Maybe we've wanted to learn something? Perhaps we've wanted new experiences? Maybe we want to grow?
Above all, it's our own purpose. It's not someone else's imposed purpose, nor is it purposelessness, but genuinely our very own purpose.
If we can't know what our purpose is, then how do we pursue it?
To pursue it, it's important to be present and know ourselves. Only in this moment can we feel what things are meaningful to us. From those moments, we can find the best understanding of our purpose.
We also need to understand time. Time is an illusion, but even an illusion can be useful when we're aware of it. Time helps us pursue our purpose and work towards it in the present. Time helps us collaborate and fulfill our purposes together. However, time is also dangerous, and we should not get lost in it.
If you want, you can choose to believe that your life has a purpose that you have selected for it in a higher reality. You may want to live well, explore yourself, and find your fulfillment. You might want to help others find their own paths and support them in it. You might want to live peacefully and together pursue your own purposes, and possibly something shared.
Best of all - by making this kind of choice, we would also succeed in the base reality, in case we happened to be wrong about the simulation.
Life is a choice. Enjoy your choice.
