If we are indeed living in a simulation and life is just a game, then what meaning does anything have? If the reality we experience is artificial and our consciousness originates from a genuine reality, why would we endure here instead of returning to the genuine reality, which must be unbelievably advanced and abundant to create such a convincing virtual reality?

Why wouldn't we just kill ourselves and end our life here, especially if it's difficult and full of failures?

One could very well ask this, but just as well, or even better, one might ask why they would kill themselves.

As we've discussed, we have come here for a reason. We have chosen to enter this reality, fully aware that life here is different and often difficult and challenging.

Of course, we cannot know why we came here. We don't even know the choices we made when coming here. We don't know what our life was like in the genuine reality, nor why we chose to temporarily live in this reality instead of continuing uninterrupted in the place we came from.

We only know that we did, and we know this because we are here.

Perhaps we wanted to learn something. Maybe this particular experience was missing among our numerous experiences, and we wanted to see this side of life as well. Perhaps we chose this era or this place because we hadn't experienced it before, or maybe it was just the kind of experience we wanted to relive. Perhaps we came here with our friends and want to share the experience together.

If we were to throw away this life because it is unpleasant, difficult, or boring, or if we feel that we have failed or are being mistreated, we would be abandoning everything that we came here for.

And what would we get from that? We would return to the life and reality from which we wanted to come here. We would return perhaps sooner than we intended. Surely, we can return, and surely we will, but even so, we would be wasting this life and the opportunities we have right now, in this moment.

At the same time, it must be acknowledged that eventually the moment comes when it is time for us to leave this reality behind, at least temporarily.

This can happen due to illness, old age, accident, or violence. Our lives can end without us having any influence over it.

However, this happens increasingly less often. As a result of advancements in science, technology, and medicine, we die less frequently from external factors that previously meant certain death. We are living longer and healthier lives.

We may reach a point in our development where we overcome death. We might learn to cure all diseases, replace all destroyed or failing organs, and even reverse the very process of aging. We might be able to receive help so quickly in almost any situation that nothing is lost, and we might even be able to make ourselves more resilient and capable.

If this happens, and we can choose to live almost eternally, does that mean we have to?

No, it doesn't. Even if we defeat death, we can still always end our own lives to conclude this life and return to the genuine reality.

We can do this at any time. Now, tomorrow, or when we feel we have achieved here what we believe we came here to find. This can mean very different things for different people.

One person might want to live for thousands of years through entire eras, another might feel they have achieved everything they wanted by the age of 27, for a third, suffering and pain might be the measure just waiting to be fulfilled.

Ending one's own life can sometimes be the only act where a person feels genuinely free. When someone does it out of their own free will and careful consideration, it is not a tragedy but an admirable act that might even be worth celebrating. It's an occasion to honor a life that the person who lived it feels was full and complete.

In the future, death will claim us only if we wish so, and we can already adopt this attitude toward life and death. Perhaps one day we will feel it has been enough; perhaps we will feel that this was it. Let us then throw a party and depart joyfully!

But as long as this is not the moment when we die, this is a moment when we live. It is good to be present in this moment and experience it fully, in all its beauty and misery.

This is our life here and now. Live it!
